What Customers Say About Live at the Fillmore:

I had been wanting to purchase this CD set for quite some time and never could pull the trigger. I have never heard a song that completely pulls me in like "Let It Rain". I find myself listening to these CD's everyday. In my humble opinion, 1970 was Clapton's "Holy Grail" period.

In Cream and Traffic, Clapton seemed to be playing at times out of bordem whereas Derek and the Dominos came about from the many emotions in Clapton's turbulant life in 1970. As one reviewer previously mentioned, even the several minute drum solo does not get boring. Carl Radle, Bobby Whitlock and Jim Gordon compliment Clapton in ways other musicians have fallen far short. Other than The Who's "Live at Leeds", I cannot more highly recommend a "live" CD set. Consistent with Clapton's flair for change, Derek and the Dominos was a short lived project but produced some amazing music that stands the test of time. Boy am I glad that I finally "bit the bullet" and purchased it.

You can hear all the stirring emotions in Clapton's guitar and vocals. Enjoy. The "Claptin is God" rhetoric could not have been spot on than in these Fillmore Shows with Derek and the Dominos. His playing on these Fillmore shows are captivating and full of emotion.

Eric & the band cover songs from studio album minus Layla, as well as 2 Blind Faith numbers and Eric's 1st solo classic : Let it RainAll I can say is this is a historic concert not to me missed. This is a classic performance of Eric Clapton in concert with the band minus Duane.

Just get both and wear them out. In my opinion, Derek and the Dominos In Concert is the best live rock LP in history. as the greatest pop/rock acts of all times. These concerts show you why Clapton is with Beck, The Beatles, Bob Marley and the Wailers et al. Also, the most inspired and inspirational. This set is a compilation made much later from the same shows with different set lists etc.

that this set only hints at.For the full Derek and the Dominoes effect, you gotta buy both. The 'In Concert' album contains the killer version of Why Does Love have to be so Sad.

As for the rest of the band they sound like they are playing a block away. I purchased this cd when it was first released and was very excited about the extra tracks this version have over Derek And The Dominos In Concert which was released on cd in the Eighties. If you are looking for a live version of Derek and the Dominos, pick up Derek and the Dominos In Concert.Even though there are less tracks this version highlights the Band and not the Clapton the Soloist. The cd has become known to myself and my friends as "Eric and the Dominos".On the original In Concert cd the band is tight and Eric is where is suppose to be - in the band and not a soloist. The music is awesome but the mixing on Live at the FillmoreI really bad. After playing it and comparing it to the original Derek And The Dominos In Concert cd I was majorly dissappointed. The mixing on Live at the Fillmore puts Clapton up front of the soundstage making his contribution to the cd stand out.
